Casco Bay

From the Chapter Chief:

Casco Bay has ended the election season with a bang. We had a last minute rush and performed elections at almost all the troops in our district, ending up with 70 candidates elected. We recently put in bunk beds, a screen door, and shelves at the Patrick lean-to to get it ready for the 08 camping season. In addition to working on the lean-to, at our service weekend we cleared brush down in camp and got the training center ready for the Fly First Class weekend. Our ceremonies team has wrapped up crossovers, and plans to perform a call-out at the spring camporee. We welcomed 12 new members into our chapter at the first ordeal, and look forward to inducting more brothers at the second as Casco Bay continues to lead the way.

Downeast

Downeast Chapter meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 PM at the Wiscasset Middle School. Meetings run from September to June.

From the Chapter Chief:

Over the past month we have been focusing on elections, and in early April we finished contacting all the troops in the Downeast area. Unfortunately, only four troops had eligible boys. Those elections were finished swiftly. Our attention is now focused on the Call-Out Ceremony and getting our inactive members involved in the Order again. We are planning on gathering the registered members at the Downeast Spring Camporee and reminding them that we are still alive. With any luck, we can get more people involved and grow as a chapter.

The KV Arrowmen meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 PM at the Mountaintop Christian Fellowship Church. Meetings run from September to June.

York

York Chapter meets on the first Thursday of the month at 7 PM at Sanford High School. Meetings run from September to June.

From the Chapter Chief:

Since the University of Scouting and the last LEC, there has only been one meeting. The one thing that’s going on in York is the 50-Mile Bike Ride, which will be June 14, 2008, and will be a fundraiser for the Sisters of Divine Mercy, who are digging a well in Africa. The well will cost upwards of $15,000. The bike ride will go through Kennebunkport, Arundel, and Wells, and is open to any Arrowmen who wish to participate. Riders will need sponsors. A signup list will be online in the very near future. Anyone planning to ride is asked to wear a white T-shirt so that we can keep the group together. In addition, a helmet is a must for the obvious safety reasons. Bikes will be inspected at the next York Chapter meeting. In older news, all but three troops were visited for elections. On May 18-20 we will be assisting with the York Spring Camporee.
