Patch Gallery

Welcome to Madockawanda Lodge's online Patch Gallery. This page displays some of our patches from years past, however, it is not really complete - it would take an avid patch collector and his trading catalog to fill in the gaps seen here. However, we have given some information on the patches we do have, so pelase, scroll down, or choose a section above.

If you happen to be an avid patch collector in the possession of said catalog, or have a patch not shown here, please let the website committee know.

Restricted Lodge Flaps

Madockawanda Lodge has placed a restriction on the sale and trading of its official flap. Members of the Lodge can earn up to three flaps in their lifetime, one for each Honor attained. Below are some of the restricted flaps, and their slight variations, through the years.

Lodge Trader Flaps

Because Madockawanda Lodge restricts the sale and trading of its official patch, the Lodge produces trader flaps for members to trade at NOACs and National Jamborees, etc. Below are some of our trader flaps over the years.

Trader Flap

Our first trader flap was actually a fully embroidered version of our official patch. It was used until 1981.

Sunset Flap - Red Turtle

"Sunset" flap, first produced 1981.

MiniMadockawanda Flap

"Mini-Madockawanda" flap.  Same design as the original "Sunset" flap, this loom run of the sunset flap was produced smaller than the standard flap, thus the nickname, "Mini-Madockawanda."

Sunset Flap - Orange Turtle

"Sunset" flap, produced with the turtle outlined in orange.

Sunset Flap w/ 75

"Sunset" flap produced for the 75th Anniversary of the Order in 1990. The turtle in this flap is outlined in purple, the first time purple has been used in our Lodge flap.

Roadkill Flap

"Roadkill" flap. Designed by Cody McManus of York Chapter. First produced in 1992.

50th Anniversary Flap

50th Anniversary flap, produced in 1994. First two piece flap in history of the Lodge.

White Buffalo Flap

"White Buffalo" flap. Designed by Laverne Burt of Casco Bay Chapter. First Lodge flap to feature an animal other than a turtle.

This patch marked the birth of a female white buffalo in this country in more than 50 years. Lakota legend says it was White Buffalo Woman who taught the Native Americans to live in harmony with their world. It is seen as a sign of peace and tranquility among Native Americans.

1997 Flap

Designed by Sam Tarbox of York Chapter. First produced in 1997, the first production of this flap contained an error, the misspelling of the Lodge name as 'Madockawada' (error version not pictured).

Lemon Pledge Flap

"Lemon Pledge" flap. Designed by Sam Tarbox of York Chapter and first produced in 1999. Ghosted "55" in top left corner notes the 55th Anniversary of the Lodge.

2000 Flap

Designed by Matt Dubois of Abnaki Chapter. First produced in 2000.

2001 Flap

Designed by Dan Viens of K-Valley Chapter. First produced in 2001.

2002 Flap

NOAC Flap 1986

1986 NOAC flap.  First Lodge NOAC flap to feature the date of the conference. Designed by Dr. Bruce Young. "50" on the flap is an error, as it was assumed, wrongly, that 1986 was the 50th year of NOACs.

NOAC flap 1990

1990 NOAC flap. "ISU" on the patch is an error, as the conference that year was actually held at IU for Indiana University.

NOAC flap 1992

1992 NOAC flap. Designed by Richard Burt of Casco Bay Chapter.

NOAC flap 1996

1996 NOAC flap. Ghosted flap.

NOAC/Ceremony Flap 1998

This flap began as a fund raiser for the ceremony committee of the Lodge, however, as no NOAC flap was produced in 1998, this flap was adopted as the NOAC 1998 flap.

NOAC flap 2000

2000 NOAC flap. Designed by Matt Dubois of Abnaki Chapter.

NOAC flap 2002

Lodge Necerchief Patch

A slightly different version of the neckerchief patch.

Three piece restricted flap. This patch was sold during 1999 as a fund raiser for the Lodge. Only 50 of each piece were produced, and each piece was on sale at one of the three ordeals that year. Members had to attend in person each of the three ordeals to complete the set.

50th Anniversary Service Project Patch. Sold to help raise funds for the restoration of the council rings at Camp Hinds and Bomazeen, the service project of our 50th Anniversary.

50th Anniversary Service Award Patch
